This top 10 list was fairly tough to narrow down, but I’m pleased with it. Even with all this great new music, I still listened to Neil Young more than anything. Neil Young rules all.

The swedes and I are going to check out Lykke Li this evening at The Vic here in Chicago. I haven’t seen here since she played Metro a few years back, so I’m stoked to hear the songs from her latest album, Wounded Rhymes, live. “Jerome” is one the bangers on the album and the collaboration with Wildbirds & Peacedrums’ Mariam Wallentin (who is a better singer might I add) is pretty awesome.

My band, Volcanoes Make Islands, just released our EP, Sick City, on August 30 to a healthy crowd at Schubas in Chicago!  The 4 song EP was recorded at The Coach House Studio with Mr. Dan Smart (The Field Auxiliary).  I am extremely stoked to get these songs out to the masses.  The results surpassed all of our expectations and I hope y’all dig the tunes as much as we do.
